When an emergency arises having first aid knowledge could help to save a life. In the UK every employer is required to have adequate resources in place in the case of an accident. We are passionate about providing quality training for businesses in Telford and the surrounding areas.

First Aid- What’s the Law?
    • All workplaces must have a level of first aid care, no matter how many people are working there.
When working in low-risk environments such as small offices, a first aid box and person in charge of arrangements must be on hand. This may involve anything from handing out a plaster to calling the emergency services.
    • In larger work places, such as office buildings and building sites a trained first aider must be available.
    • Employers have a legal duty to make to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured / get ill at work.
    • Employers should make sure there are enough staff to provide adequate first-aid treatment so when an accident happens, there’s always someone around.
First Aid – The Benefits:
  • It gives confidence if an accident does happen

If an accident happens, the last thing you want to happen is panic. If there is someone there who knows what to do when an emergency occurs, it gives the situation clarity. Your colleagues can be confident the situation is handled by someone with training, and take a step back.

  • Ensure first aid kits are used properly

If you know what’s in the kit then you can dispense care more effectively. If you know what the equipment in the kit is for, then you can access it quickly and use it properly in an emergency.

  • It can reduce workplace accidents

When you go through first aid training it can make you more safety aware. If you know what potential hazards are then you’re more likely to stop them in the work place before they become incidents. This awareness and attitude is more likely to prevent accidents in the work place.
